Exploring Employee Perceptions of AI-Generated Workplace Communication: An Invitation to Contribute to an Academic Study
In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into various facets of workplace communication. From drafting emails to managing schedules, AI tools are becoming commonplace. However, a significant question remains: how do employees perceive and interpret messages when they suspect or are aware that their managers are utilizing AI to craft their communication?
A recent academic study aims to shed light on this topic, specifically focusing on employees’ perceptions of AI-assisted communication in professional settings. Conducted as part of an MBA thesis, the research seeks to understand whether transparency about AI usage influences employee trust, engagement, or perceptions of authenticity.
The Purpose of the Study
The core objective of the study is to explore two main aspects:
- How employees interpret communication when it is explicitly disclosed that AI tools were used in message creation.
- How perceptions differ when employees suspect AI involvement but lack explicit confirmation.
