Creating “Civic Nightmare”: A Rapid Satirical Browser Game in Just Nine Days
In an impressive display of rapid development and creative experimentation, I recently crafted a browser-based satire titled “Civic Nightmare” in only nine days. This project not only pushes the boundaries of indie game creation but also serves as a reflection on bureaucracy, political spectacle, technological arrogance, and the absurdities of contemporary society.
Pioneering a New Development Approach
This was my first experience working with the Godot engine, and I navigated the complexities of web deployment for the first time during this project. The development process was structured around a genuine multi-agent workflow, leveraging different AI tools to streamline and enhance various aspects of the project.

Throughout the process, I utilized several AI models to assist in development:
- Claude Code: Played a crucial role in accelerating iterative cycles, speeding up implementation, and providing guidance on code structure.
- OpenAI Codex: Was instrumental in debugging, identifying logical inconsistencies, fixing bugs, and generating robust code alternatives where systems faltered. Its ability to “harden” the project contributed significantly to the game’s stability.
These tools enabled me to transform initial concepts into a playable browser game within a remarkably short timeframe, demonstrating how AI can augment human creativity and technical expertise.
A Short, Sharp Satire Made by Human-AI Collaboration
