Exploring the Best of Spain and Portugal: Seeking Expert Insights on a 15-Night Itinerary
Planning a memorable European adventure can be both exciting and overwhelming, especially when aiming to balance cultural immersion, scenic beauty, relaxation, and unique experiences. As my husband and I prepare to celebrate my 35th birthday with a two-week journey through Spain and Portugal, we’re eager to fine-tune our itinerary with advice from seasoned travelers and locals who have experienced these destinations firsthand.

– Attractions: The Prado Museum, Retiro Park, and a special dinner at DiverXO to indulge in a culinary splurge
Lisbon (June 25–28): Three nights
– Accommodation: Bairro Alto Hotel
– Activities: Exploring Alfama neighborhood, enjoying a refined dinner at Belcanto, and taking a day trip to Sintra for fairy-tale castles and lush landscapes
Douro Valley (June 28 – July 1): Three nights
– Accommodation: Six Senses Douro Valley
– Experiences: Wine tastings at local quintas, scenic boat rides along the Douro River
Algarve (July 1–5): Four nights
– Accommodation: Vila Vita Parc

Our Travel Vision
We’re aiming for a luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere—featuring exceptional cuisine, fine wines, beautiful beaches, scenic drives, and authentic experiences rather than ticking off tourist “must-sees.” Budget is flexible; our priority is value—meaning memorable experiences that don’t necessarily come with a hefty price tag.
