For instance, I often write my own messages—whether they’re texts to friends or potential romantic interests—and sometimes I notice a flutter of anxiety. Am I coming across as too expressive, overly engaged, or perhaps sounding too generic with the occasional emoji? Yet, isn’t this simply how I’ve always communicated?

Reflecting on my past, I remember times when I was fixated on punctuation and style—like overusing hyphens—which, thankfully, I’ve since outgrown. But I can imagine that if I were still a habitual hyphen user, the anxiety might have been even more intense, especially with the influence of AI tools that can subtly alter our writing styles.
