Exploring Europe for the First Time: Seeking Travel Route Feedback
Embarking on a European adventure for the first time can be both exciting and overwhelming. With approximately 50 days to explore, planning an itinerary that balances must-see sights with manageable travel is crucial. In this article, I share my current travel plan and invite insights to help refine and optimize the journey.
Overview of My Planned European Excursion
My trip begins in London on September 25th, where I plan to spend four nights immersing myself in British culture and sights. Following that, the itinerary includes:
- London to Paris: 4 nights to experience the French capital’s iconic landmarks and neighborhoods.
- Paris to Brussels: 2 nights to enjoy the Belgian capital’s historic sites.
- Brussels to Amsterdam: 4 nights to explore the Dutch city’s art, canals, and vibrant atmosphere.
- Amsterdam to Berlin: 3 nights in Germany’s bustling capital.
- Berlin to Prague: 3 nights in the historic Czech city.
- Prague to Vienna: 3 nights appreciating Austria’s cultural heart.
- Vienna to Budapest: 3 nights in Hungary’s vibrant capital.
- Budapest to Bled: 2 nights, including a day trip to Ljubljana.
- Bled to Venice: 3 nights in Italy’s romantic city.
- Venice to Zurich: 2 nights soaking in Swiss charm.
- Zurich to Interlaken: 4 nights for outdoor adventures and scenic views.
- Interlaken to Nice: 3 nights along the French Riviera.
- Nice to Avignon: 3 nights exploring Provence.
- Avignon to Carcassonne: 2 nights in the medieval fortress town.
- Carcassonne to Barcelona: 3 nights enjoying Catalonia’s vibrant culture.
After traversing these cities, we’ll embark on a cruise that will take us to Florence, Rome, and Lisbon before returning home to New York.
Seeking Feedback: Is This Too Ambitious?
Given the breadth of this itinerary, I am eager to hear your thoughts. Are there destinations I might consider shortening or skipping? Conversely, are there key highlights I should add? Any advice on pacing, travel logistics, or recommended stays would be highly appreciated.
Your insights will be invaluable in helping optimize this adventure, ensuring it’s memorable, manageable, and enriching. Thank you in advance for your feedback!
