As I wrap up my stay in Rome and prepare for the next leg of my Italian journey, I wanted to share some insights and seek advice from fellow travelers. My upcoming itinerary includes stops in the breathtaking Cinque Terre, enchanting Venice, and a brief but stunning sojourn in the Dolomites.

Travel Plans and Transportation

Tomorrow, I plan to depart from Rome via train, heading first to Cinque Terre, followed by a scenic train ride to Venice, and eventually returning to Rome. Traveling by train has been a smooth and efficient way to explore Italy’s diverse regions, offering stunning vistas and hassle-free connections. However, I’m considering the possibility of renting a car at some point to explore beyond the cities.

Olive Oil Farm Visits

One of my passions is culinary experiences, especially authentic olive oil tastings. I’d love to visit an olive oil farm or grove during this trip. Given my travel route, I’m curious whether there are quality olive oil farms within an hour’s drive of Cinque Terre or Venice that are accessible without extensive planning. If anyone has recommendations for reputable farms or tours in these areas, I would greatly appreciate your insights.

I’ve read conflicting information about renting a car in Italy. Additionally, I’m interested in hearing about the logistics of traveling from Cinque Terre or Venice to nearby olive oil farms—would renting a car be the most practical option?
