Exploring Human-AI Interactions: Participate in a Brief, Anonymous Study

As artificial intelligence continues to integrate into our daily lives—from chatbots to virtual assistants—understanding how people engage with these technologies becomes increasingly important. Researchers at Northumbria University are conducting a short, anonymous survey aimed at gathering insights into individuals’ experiences and perceptions of interacting with AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Siri, or Alexa.

About the Study

This research project seeks to examine the nature of conversations with AI, focusing on aspects like trust, emotional connection, and the influence of such interactions on everyday life. The aim is to identify factors that contribute to healthy or potentially problematic AI-human relationships over time.

Who Is Eligible to Participate?

  • Adults aged 18 and above
  • Regular users of AI chatbots, whether through text, voice, or avatar interactions
  • Participants who use AI outside of a work environment

What Does Participation Entail?

The survey is brief, taking less than 10 minutes to complete. Participants will be asked to share their experiences and thoughts regarding AI interactions in a completely anonymous format, with no personally identifying information collected beyond demographic details. A small subset of respondents may be invited to answer a few optional open-ended questions at the end of the survey, providing deeper insights into their perspectives.

Why Participate?

By taking part, you will contribute valuable data to a university-backed research project exploring the evolving role of AI in human communication. Your insights can help inform future developments and responsible use guidelines for AI technologies, fostering healthier and more meaningful human-AI relationships.
