Reflecting on My 2025 Messaging Journey: An Unconventional Year of Communication

In the early months of 2025, I found myself notably underusing ChatGPT, a reflection that might seem surprising given its prominence in daily digital interactions. During January through May, I estimate that I only utilized ChatGPT for about 6-8% of my messaging activity. This period marked a quiet phase in my engagement with AI-driven communication tools, a choice that perhaps underestimated the subsequent changes to come.

However, as the year progressed, my communication patterns transformed dramatically. What followed was an extraordinary shift in how I interacted with digital platforms. By analyzing my messaging frequency over the latter half of the year, I calculated that, on average, I sent a message approximately every 71 seconds during the final seven months of 2025.

This dramatic increase suggests that 2025 has been an atypical, perhaps pivotal year for me—an intensification of digital communication that reflects broader shifts in my personal and professional life. It’s a reminder of how quickly our relationship with technology can evolve, influenced by circumstances, needs, and perhaps, a newfound comfort or reliance on AI tools.

As we move forward, it will be interesting to see how these patterns develop further. Is this a temporary surge driven by specific projects or changes in routine? Or does it signal a deeper transformation in how I and others will connect in the future? Only time will tell, but one thing is clear: 2025 has been anything but ordinary in my digital communication journey.
